At the start of 2015, BSW Machinery, the Vienna based subsidiary of Windmöller & Hölscher, broke its own previous production record of cross bottom valve sacks made of woven PP. The first converTex for production of 120 sacks per minute was delivered to Sadico in Vietnam.
This machine is now in operation for one year and in the meantime several lines have been shipped to customers around the world. The result: the highest production output and ease of operation.
The new converTex SLC 120 was completely redesigned around the proven opening station that is already in operation for many years on over one thousand paper sack machines at even higher speeds. Adapted to the specific needs of PP fabric the opening station can easily handle the rate of 120 PP bags per minute.
At those high production rates support for the operator by the machine is getting more and more important. In the first process step “fabric unwinding” the operator is now supported by a double unwinding station ERC - Easy Roll Change which allows very short changeovers. This increases the production efficiency significantly, because no time is lost before restart with a fresh fabric roll.
Sensors can be integrated into the next process step “perforation” to assist the operator in quality improvement. fabriCon detects labels applied upstream in the process for marking of fabric deficiencies. Another sensor detects excess thickness of fabric as seen when a tape breaks during weaving. In each case the identified fabric section is automatically separated in the rejection gate at the end of the machine.
The higher the speed the more attention has to be paid to automatic self-adjustment in the machine. To that respect easyTrack is designed for fabric width monitoring with automatic positioning of patches according to the current fabric width. Inline quality checks support the operator and improve output. ValveCon checks the presence and quality of valves and advises the operator immediately, if any deviations might require attention.
Faster production rates require simple machine operation, because mistakes can quickly create substantial waste. Easy handling of the user interface is an import feature, beside a wide screen and high resolution. A well thought-out menu design which supports operators is essential for getting high output rates. Clear graphic symbols break down language barriers and guided machine adjustments assist operators to reach top production results.
Every machine requires service at some point. To support the operator serviceMon alerts on routine maintenance and allows scheduled maintenance. Having the required parts, supplies and personnel ready for maintenance at a scheduled time keeps downtime to a minimum resulting in lower cost. Less unexpected downtime results in higher overall operational availability.
Day after day converTex 120 machines are proving their industrial capability of producing sacks at speeds up to 120 sacks per minute. They build on the reputation “converTex - easy-fast-reliable”.
